Bayer sensor image upscaling

An interesting thread has popped up on BMCUser forum that talks about upscaling bayer pattern sensor images (or any other image really). Some great examples and sample files also. It involves luma-chroma conversion, Nuke TVIScale lambda scale and smoothing and dithering of certain channels. Results speak for themselves - moire patterns seen on usual debayered image that get magnified when upscaled are practically gone. It was even mentioned that when comparing 2.5K upscaled image with Red One image and Red's own debayer, BMC image needed some blur to be of similar softness...
